SHARDS OF GLASS
Shards of glass surround her like an ambush in the night
Reopening the scars they made upon a previous fight
The blood they draw accumulates, submerging her so deep
She makes a muffled cry for help before she goes to sleep
She thinks of all the messages she failed to recognize
The ones that warned her day by day to stop and scrutinize
The life she lived that was in fact a life that barely lived
Which satisfied the hungry fear that grew from deep within
She isolated from the ones that tried to pick her up
She drowned herself in solitude until she had too much
It's far too late, she strongly feels, for her to turn around
"It makes no sense, she tells herself, to come up from the ground"
Her very lonesome spirit has buried her once more
She accepts her crude fatality behind the bathroom door
