First off, I believe that in order to accomplish any goal or make a positive change, you need a plan. In my case, and in the case of billions of people around the world, I would like to be happy.

I'd like to share my Happiness Project with you so you can get an idea of what it entails. Do keep in mind that there are many ways to do this, so don't feel as if you must follow a structured guideline.

I got the idea of building a Happiness project from a book ("The Happiness Project" by Gretchen Ruben) my best friend bought me one day when she came to visit me at Kings County Hospital Psychiatric Ward. I woke up one day thinking to myself "Is this it? Am I going to live the rest of my life in and out of psychiatric wards? What is it that makes me come back? What is it that makes me so depressed, hopeless, and agitated?" After reading this very well written book, I decided to make my own happiness project.

A “happiness project” is an approach to changing your life. First is the preparation stage, when you identify what brings you joy, satisfaction, and engagement, and
also what brings you guilt, anger, boredom, and remorse. Second is the making of resolutions, when you identify the concrete actions that will boost your happiness. Then comes the interesting part: keeping your resolutions.
