Standard 8: Assessment

          In my Education 340, I was asked to create an assessment plan for students. In this assignment I had to also create a lesson plan and an assessment when will improve students. There are several reasons why a teacher needs to assess her students. Assessing students helps to determine how much they are learning and what they are struggling with. By assessing students, the teacher can help students achieve their academic goals. There are many different ways that students can be assessed. Assessment is used to determine what a student knows or can do, while evaluation is used to determine the worth or value of a lesson. This assignment also indicated connection to with the CEC standard 9 and ACEI standard 4, 4.0: I used various forms of assessment to assess students. Doing this assignment helped me to learn how to conduct an assessment, In addition to this; I also learn that it is always great to have the appropriate tools when conducting the assessment to keep the child’s interest and participation. While creating this assessment I considered all the educational substance knowledge I gained throughout my education courses.  It is significant in the special education professional path that I become acquainted with and understand the content. This evidence proves that I understand the concepts of creating a lesson plan with assessment for students learning. I recognize the different strategies and experiences that make assessment important to students.  I feel that my ability on this project was exemplary because I was able to complete the assessment with exact outcomes to support the student’s ability.
