One of my courses as an aspiring educator is Computer in Education EDUC 350-050 which is designed to prepare future educators to be more knowledgeable about the different types of technology and how they may benefit both teachers and students. One of the first assignment given to the class by our professor was to investigate and evaluate twelve websites in six different content areas namely Math, Science, Social Studies, Writing, Reading/Language Arts and Arts. The purpose of this assignment was to have us familiarize ourselves with the many opportunities available to educators in the area of professional development and that are available on the Internet.

In order to complete this assignment we were put in groups of two or three and each person had the responsibility of researching two websites for the content area they chose. This assignment was completed in the fall of 2010.  There were specific instructions given for the completion of this assignment on our syllabus and in our text book. One of the requirements was  interactive sites should teach content, must have lessons for teachers, learning materials for teachers and students and or resources for teachers and students.

I was in a group of three and it was my responsibility to research website for the content areas of Social Studies and Arts and comply the other information given by the other two group members into our final presentation. There were anumber of websites with information pertaining to these websites but I chose to use the sites www.2scholastic.com and www.globalclassroom.org for the content area of Social Studies and www.incredibleart.org and www.haringkids.com for the content area of Arts. The other eight sites chosen were www.writinga-z.com and www.eduscapes.com/tap for content area of Writing, www.readinga-z.com and www.abcreadingeggs.com for the cntent area Reading/ Language Arts, www.biology.Arizona.edu and www.hhmi.org/home for the content area Science and for the content area Math www.mathforum.org and www.linkslearning.org .

These site were very informative and they met the criteria of the instructions provided. Our group received an exemplary grade for our presentation and as aspiring educators we are now better equipped to facilitate information to the future scholars through these interactive websites. As evidence for this assignment I have submitted the paper written by my group.
