It is always good to hear people’s opinions about what is going on the world. For example, when people talk about government, election or local concerns in their neighbor, that is good because someone else may be in an similar situation and if no one speaks up, then things have a higher chance of getting worse. However, when it comes to education I strongly believe that everyone especially those who have children within the system should voice their feelings about anything that is taking place in the education field. If nobody says anything than nothing could ever change. As of today especially in the city, there are schools that are in need of many changes such as the standards for students, the work that is being provided, and some of the teachers who are working in the system who are not performing well. If we could all speak up and discuss these problems, the chances of improving the education system are very high. There are still problems such as slaves not being allow to have an right to a free education leading not to today. Now I am not saying that we don’t have that particular problem, but in a way certain materials like the SAT, The state wide exams, etc are made to the point where people of color have a difficult time understanding reading and answering the questions. To me that is not fair and it should not be this way. The more we speak out about this matter, the higher the chance of something being changed could come true.
