Reflection Based on Creativity

For this reflection I am focusing on creativity. Creativity is one of the areas I like best, because I believer that every teacher or aspiring teacher should be creative. No two teachers are alike, what might work for one teacher in a classroom setting might not work for the other, hence the need for teachers to be creative so that they can have classes that students enjoy. This evidence or paper meets the standard of creativity. In creativity candidates conceptualize, design, and develop imaginative and innovative work.  Creativity involves two processes: thinking, then producing.  Innovation is the production or implementation of an idea.  If you have ideas, but don't act on them, you are imaginative but not creative.

For this paper creativity was used in creating a lesson plan for Education 350 class.  Dr. Saran gave us the assignment of creating a lesson plan that will incorporate various instructions, strategies, assesments and the use of technology. This lesson plan was created by Anyka and I. We focused on Ecology of the rain forest.  Ecology is the study of the relationship between living organisms and their interactions with their natural or developed environment. Creating this lesson plan helped us to conceptualize design for the student by making an ecological chart that incorporated the different aspects of the rain forest.  The chart shows the people, animals and life that exist in the rain forest and how they all depend on one another to survive. We also developed imaginative and innovative work by grouping different activities together such as the use of the computer, story books, charts, pictures, activity sheets etc. in order to make the class work more entertaining, thus making the students excited about their assigned work.

The creative knowledge and skills that were achieved in completing this assignment were remarkable. We were able to teach different concepts by using the information gathered and learned during the research to review animals, people and life that exists in the rain forest.  The growth, development and peroformance demonstrated were great since the lesson plan helped us to conceptualize and implement multiple strategies of teaching and learning.  whild creating this lesson plan I learned the imprtance of developing learning materials and lessons that utilize student's imaginative capicities.  when students get involved in learning, learning then becomes fun and the students are able to graps information in an enhanced approach.  I also learnd that creativity is a chain reaction. when teachers are creative, than the students also become creative. Students emulate their teachers' actions.
