Ideas and Events that Have Shaped Education in the United States

 This article`s contents speaks about the ideas and events that have helped shape the education system in the United States. It reflects on the different educational philosophies and the varying views of teaching. After reading about the different philosophers and their views concerning education, I was able to realize and came up with my own educational philosophy and came to terms with why I believe and what I believe. Looking at the different branches of philosophies, gave me a clearer understanding of where I stand today. Evidence in this reading also showed the movement of education how through the years and how it has changed over time. After reading and completing the Professional Reflection Survey attached to the end of this reading selection. I became aware that I was both Progressivism and a Reconstructionist from my philosophic Inventory Score sheet.
