All about Me

My name is Lynette Williams. I was born in Berbice, one of the three counties in beautiful Guyana. I am the fourth child in a family of eight. I was shown much love by my father, this love I transferred to my son and the same to the children I will teach. I was born under the zodiac sign of Sagittarius an analytical thinker who would do whatever it takes to pursue  my dreams in life. My hobbies are cooking, travelling, reading and dancing. I have the need to always be active and constructive hence, I developed a side hobby of cooking and catering and making various types of cakes for weddings and parties mostly on weekends.

Growing up as a child, I always visualized myself as a nurse or a teacher, but my dreams were answered when I began to work as a pre- school teacher in my country. So I decided to follow my dreams and began to pursue a career in education.

When I began my career in the field of education at that pre- school institution I was influenced by an aunt who was also an early childhood educator; whom I looked up to as my mentor. She saw in me more than I saw in myself, and took the responsibility to give me the tools that would help me succeed. Helping with the molding of young minds has been and will continue to be my contribution to society and my life`s dream. I am presently employed at a pre- school,  and  also had the opportunity of working in a few more pre- school settings . I find the experience challenging but rewarding.

I was granted a Government of Guyana Scholarship to pursue training in early childhood Education at Servol Caribbean Life Centre in Trinidad and graduated with honors. I also attended Cyril Potter College of Education and graduated with a Trained Certificate. I have  completed my Associates in Arts and Teacher Education and will continue my undergraduate studies in Early Childhood and Special Education. Not only do I want to receive a dual certification, my ultimate goal is to own and efficiently operate a pre-school center, where working with young children would allow me the utmost degree of personal and professional satisfaction. Providing a safe and healthy environment is what a community needs. It is goal that I endeavor to commit my service.
