Puerto Rico was amazing! The two things that most impressed me were the Zipline adventure and the visit to the home of Filiberto Ojeda Rios. The Zipline Adventure was awesome and terrifying at the same time. It was one of the scariest things I have ever done. As i stepped off the ramp for the first crossing I was asking myself, "why the hell are you doing this?" but then I was across and I was flying! What a rush! On the final crossing, I was going so fast that I forgot not to point my foot and I fractured my big toe. It hurt like hell and I am still recovering but it was definitely worth it and I would do it again.

The visit to Filiberto's home was awesome in a totally different way. I stood in the kitchen where he hid behind the fridge as he was bombarded by bullets from over 400 FBI agents surrounding his mountain home. I tried to imagine what this 72 year old man must have felt like as he bled to death on that kitchen floor - did he think it was worth it or did he regret the actions that brought him to that final moment of his life. I believe that he must have felt that he had lived a good life and that in the end he had accomplished much of what he set out to do. He died for a free and independent Puerto Rico and he will not be forgotten. I felt very privileged to be standing in his home. After many years of visiting Puerto Rico, I can honestly say that those two moments were the most unforgettable for me. Que Viva Puerto Rico Libre Y Que Viva ALAS!!
